THE POSTCAKE.com STORY

I love making memories, taking photos and baking cakes. Before the birth of the internet my family moved to Spain and my best friend and I kept in touch by writing to each other with good old-fashioned pen and paper! I used to look forward to receiving beautiful cards, perfectly selected by my friend with me in mind. The time spent finding the perfect card and writing to one another, then patiently waiting for the post to arrive was something I treasured. On occasion, I would receive a gift with my card be it Birthdays, Christmas or just because she cared – it made my day extra special!

My passion for baking began very young; thanks to a wonderful Jane Asher book my mum would use to lovingly create birthday cakes. My eyes would light up at the sight of edible gardens complete with marshmallow trees and fondant flowers. I would regularly make cakes for school charity bake sales, I opened my own “tea room” in the summer of ’94 and more recently made my own wedding cake!

Now, social media is a wonderful invention but is there any better feeling than receiving something in the post, other than a credit card bill?! Postcake.com has been especially designed to fit through a letterbox, meaning there is a delicious cake waiting for your special someone when they get home. Don’t send cards, send cake!

I better get back to baking, these cakes won’t post themselves.

Love & Cake,

Pippa x
